How about helping on 'the wild side'

If you treasure the landscape, space, sanctuary and the opportunities our wild parks offer around the margins of the city, then you may be keen to help the City Council to develop them.

The Council's park rangers regularly hold public events to give people the opportunity to help bring nature back to the city. Come and explore the wild side and join in on some of the planting action at different restoration sites.

Arrive on the day with spade in hand and sturdy footwear. Or, phone the contact for further details or directions to any of the locations. Spare tools are available if you need them.

The City Council welcomes the support of volunteers, community groups and businesses, including Trees for Canterbury and Honda, for supporting some of these projects.

Port Hills Ranger Di Carter shows young volunteers how to weed around young plants to encourage growth.
