Room 11 of Parkview Primary decided the most important
improvement they could make to their suburb, Parklands, was to provide more recreational
activities for young people.
After
researching public opinion in the community they found a high level of support among
children and parents for a skate park and graffiti wall at Adcock Reserve, which adjoins
the school. Landscape architect, Simon Fenwick assisted the class to design the park and
detailed costings put the budget of the work at $30,000.
Burwood-Pegasus
Community Board recommended to proceed with the idea, dependent on funding being available
through the Councils parks unit, which has budgeted to make improvements in
Parklands over the next few years.
