  Pupils at Linwood
Intermediate chose a local landmark, the Linwood Cemetery, as the focus of their big
        idea.
        Highlighting
the poor condition of graves and headstones, vandalism, graffiti, broken footpaths, weeds
and the generally run-down state of the historical community site, the Linwood
Intermediate pupils suggested the Council should make a commitment to give the Cemetery a
facelift. Hearing these concerns from the pupils, the Hagley-Ferrymead Community Board
agreed to promote them within Council with the hope that remedial maintenance of the
        Cemetery could be carried out.
