National Swimming Champs

Welcome to Christchurch, and welcome to what is an exciting time for swimming in New Zealand.

I'm here tonight just back from China. The national swim team has also just arrived back from China where, I'm told, they achieved their best results ever in the World short course champs in Shanghai. And that's after showing us some fantastic form in Melbourne!

I think it's fair to say that New Zealand swimming is heading into golden times and this is a great time to be taking part in this phase of our swimming history.

I hope you’ll have a great time in Christchurch, in and out of the water - and good luck with the competitions!
