Showtime is here again

Showtime patron, racer and clown at the cow gallops Canterbury will be celebrating in November with the region’s premier festival — Showtime Canterbury.

With more than 40 events surrounding Cup Week and Show Day, there will be something for everyone in and around Christchurch from 3-18 November.

The trotting at Addington and the gallops at Riccarton racecourses will be opportunities to spot a winner and mingle with the fashionable.

The A & P Show is a Royal Show this year, and promises rural fun and excitement for the whole family.

Favourite events such as four vineyards and an olive grove, and the Meridian Energy Fireworks Extravaganza will return this year, as well as the Sumner School Garden Tour and Lite FM Fashion in the city. New events will include Circus Under the Stars, the Canterbury Kennel Association Show, Christchurch Wildlife Cruises on Lyttelton Harbour, and many exhibitions at local galleries.

Showtime Canterbury will begin with a Celebrity Sulky Race around Cathedral Square at lunchtime on Friday 2 November.

For more information, call 9416 840, or visit www.ShowtimeCanterbury.org.nz from next month.
