Home heating help

Warmer Homes Homeowners on low incomes who want to insulate and heat their houses more efficiently can apply to the City Council for financial assistance.

The Warmer Homes Programme is available to homeowners who have a Community Services Card, and are replacing, removing or sealing an open fire or coal burner that is the main source of heating in their homes.

Homeowners who think they are eligible should call the Warmer Homes Programme Administrator on 352-4488.

Or they can visit the Christchurch Council’s Energy Efficiency Show Home at 10 Leander Street, Papanui, to see how houses can be made warmer and healthier. It is open from 11am to 6pm every day except Wednesday.
