Public have say on square
Seeking the opinions were Canterbury University students,Tina Dunnings and Michelle Rouxel, who are working for the Family and Community Division of Anglican Care as part of their formal social work studies. They say many views on proposed changes were expressed about the Ian Athfield-James Lunday proposals. Tina and Michelle also sought public feedback by a questionnaire before they appeared in the Square with the model. "People certainly have quite polarised views," they say. The demolition and relocation of the police kiosk was generally perceived favourably as were the waster feature and reduced vehicular access. However, the public wanted more colour and vitality. Their report will be ready soon. Tina and Michelle worked with the City Council and Anglican Cathedral staff.
