Art and craft at Avice Hill

FENDALTON-WAIMAIRI COMMUNITY

Little girl and Potter at Avice Hill's open day on Waitangi DayThis little girl was one of more than 700 people at Avice Hill’s open day on Waitangi Day.

As well as face painting and balloon art, there was a bouncy castle for the children, arts and craft displays and “have-a-go” sessions. The displays included pottery, embroidery, woodwork and family photo album creation. There was also petanque.

Nestled in the picturesque woodlands of an old estate in Burnside is Avice Hill Arts and Craft Centre.

The centre provides facilities for arts and craft groups and offers courses including floral art, folk art, sculpture, painting and patchwork and quilting.
