Supporting each other

Starting a Neighbourhood Support Group is easy.

Simply telephone a community constable who will help.

Two constables are based at the Council’s Fendalton office (Ph: 351 3740).

They have crime prevention material available and are happy to speak at neighbourhood meetings.

Each group should be about 10 households in size, five on each side of the road, and this makes observation much easier for neighbours.

Each group has to appoint a group co-ordinator.

Many people have formed groups to protect themselves, their families and their neighbours from crimes.

Also many people no longer want to live in isolation in their communities.

Neighbourhood Support is a solution to many negative aspects of modern-day living.
