City Planners Need You!

Residents can determine the direction of cities when they work with politicians and investors.

Planners cannot do the job alone. This was what was reported by a Christchurch City Council contingent that attended the Urban 21 Conference in Germany. Two councillors and a senior staff member attended and were the only New Zealanders there. Other messages from the conference were:

sustainability is reliant on good governance;
cities are the focus of global problems but also offer hope and opportunity;
a lively and varied central city is important.
