Showtime is coming

www.showtimecanterbury.org.nz4-19 November

Along with warmer weather, November brings the regional celebration of Showtime Canterbury.

Highly-anticipated feature events include the New Brighton Fireworks on 5 November; Galloping Cup Carnival, 13 November; New Zealand Trotting Cup Carnival, 14 November, and Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Show from 15 to 18 November.

New events this year include the New Zealand Army Band performing a nostalgia concert; Canterbury Lamb and Lager Festival at the Arts Centre; Drive Through Week at Orana Wildlife Park, and high action cricket with the Shell Super Max Finals.

A tour of three heritage pubs is new to the programme, as well as tours of 10 spectacular gardens on the Sumner School Garden Tour. Floravisionz 2000 will feature more than 300 exhibits by national and international designers. Two to 12-year-olds will have a blast with interactive activities at the Kids Play, Do and Learn Expo.

Now in its fifth year, Showtime Canterbury promises to bring together the best Canterbury can offer. A diverse range of sports, arts, fashion, culture and entertainment activities provide something for everyone and a unique opportunity for Cantabrians and visitors to explore the region, soak up the festival's special atmosphere, and have a fabulous time.
