Manifesto 2000 — promoting peace

A delegation attended the Council Community Services Committee meeting last month to encourage people to add their names to Manifesto 2000, an international campaign for the culture of peace and non- violence.

The key points in it are:
  • Respect all life
  • Reject violence
  • Share with others
  • Listen to understand
  • Preserve the planet, and
  • Rediscover solidarity
One hundred million signatures are expected on the manifesto, which will be presented to the General Assembly of the United Nations for the millennium this month.
