Book for Travis walks
A 50-page guide to Travis Wetland walks was launched last month, covering topics such as the wetland's bird-life, history and water quality.
Its publication follows completion of a walkway at Travis Wetland which allows visitors to travel a complete circuit of the area.
Eric Banks, Christchurch City Council parks and waterways planner, says, "the guide's been written to improve understanding of wetland ecosystems, publicise Travis and to add value to visiting the wetland."
The Council, Banrock Station Wines and Environment Canterbury sponsored the book's production. Copies are available from Council offices for $10.
