Hands around the world

Joining Hands Around the World is a project launched last month at the Culture Galore festival in Ray Blank Park.

Young people made colourful handprints on pieces of cloth which will be joined together with those of children from Christchurch's sister cities and strung up around Cathedral Square on 22 July during the Kids Aren't Square KidsFest event. More handprints will be sought from children during the KidsMarket Day in the Square on 19 July.

This International Christchurch Youth (ICY) project is supported by the City Council and Resene Paints.

ICY is a young people's group which promotes awareness and understanding about the world's cultures and encourage youth participation in international relations.
