It will start at 11am with a parade along Worcester Boulevard.

There will be traditional and contemporary dances and performances, fashion parades, art and craft demonstrations and food stalls at the Arts Centre.

Expected highlights include:
• A performance in the Great Hall of the Arts Centre by tsugaru shamisen group Kaze. The tsugaru shamisen is a traditional Japanese musical instrument, played using a technique handed down through the generations.
• The Royal Chhau Mask and Dance Troupe from India with their ornate masks and costumes. The Chhau is one of the oldest mask dances in the world and the most vigorous Indian dance.
• Lively Japanese street music called chin-don-ya, typically played in Japan to attract people to stores and entertainment centres.
• A performance by the Songpa Gu Cultural Group (Korea), including samulnori drummers, fan and drum dancers and a choir. (This group will also give a special performance on Friday evening, 30 March, in the James Hay Theatre.)
