Late night at Spreydon

Spreydon Library is now open until 8pm on Thursday nights. Spreydon Community Librarian Barbara Clarke says the change in hours ties in with the opening hours of Barrington Mall. "People can do their shopping and pick up their weekend reading at the same time," she says.

These days' libraries are a lot more than books with music CDs, magazines, large print books and talking books available. Spreydon Library also has Internet access and computer games. During the week it provides a Homework Zone for children and organised times for Preschool Story Times and Baby Times, when children and caregivers can listen and take part in stories, rhymes and other activities.

Contact Christchurch City Libraries on 941 7923, or check the website at http://library.christchurch.org.nz for library opening hours and events.
