New look for Broad Park
Major changes are under way in Broad Park at Waimairi
Beach, with work programmed to take place over about
five years. Many older macrocarpa and pine trees will be
taken out and the old brick toilets will be demolished. A
new changing pavilion is to be built over about four
months. A new access path, new car park area and
landscaping will follow. Local residents were asked to share their ideas on how
Broad Park could be improved. “The concept plan takes
into account public submissions and input at a design
workshop in March,” says Chris Fourie, the Parks and
Waterways Area Advocate. |
