Help at hand for visitors

City hosts, in distinctive red, black and white uniforms, could be seen soon in the central city to help visitors.

It is the idea of Wynn Ballantine, who has already started trialling the scheme in Christchurch with the support of the Council’s City Promotion Team and Mayor Garry Moore.

It is expected that the host scheme will complement the city’s Guided Walk Services, the Town Crier, and Christchurch and Canterbury Marketing Ltd.

The hosts will work from the Visitors’ Centre in Cathedral Square and mingle with tourists on the tram, shuttle and by foot throughout the central city.
