Free parking for first hour Free parking at three Council car parks will be allowed for the first hour of each day of the week from August. The proposal, under the draft annual plan, will allow the free hour in the Lichfield Street, Farmers and The Crossing car parks. The proposal will be reviewed after 11 months and funding of $180,000 has been provided in the Parking Unit's budget for the initiative as part of the Council’s central-city revitalisation plans.
