Port Hills Park

Last year Christchurch City Council adopted the Port Hills Regional Park acquisitions strategy, which aims to in increase the area of publicly-accessible land to about 5100 hectares over 10 years.

Currently about 1960 hectares of Port Hills land is in public ownership or or has a Queen Elizabeth II covenant with public access permitted. The strategy is based on willing buyer/willing seller negotiations.
