Summer Pools a great day out

Summer Pools a great day out

Enjoy the balmy days of summer and relax poolside at one of the City Council’s four Summer Pools. The Sockburn, Waltham and Halswell Pools are now open daily from 11am and Jellie Park from 6am.

The Summer Pools offer affordable fun for the whole family, with full-day entry prices starting at $1.50 for the under-15s. The facilites include heated outdoor pools, toddler’s pool, dive boards (at Jellie and Sockburn), and hydroslides to add to the fun.

Go along for the day or an afternoon, roll out the picnic blanket in the park-like surrounds.

Refreshments are available at the kiosk and each pool has a dedicated barbeque area.

Later in the season the Suburban Pools open; Edgeware Pool on 3 December, Belfast Pool on 10 December, and Templeton Pool on 7 January. These pools will be open daily from midday to 5.30pm.

  • To find out more, pick up a Summer Pools brochure at one of the City Council’s pools, libraries, service centres and other recreational outlets around the city. Another source of information is the web, at www.ccc.govt.nz/leisurecentres
