$50k fund for waste-cutting
Do you have a great idea for reducing waste but need a bit of financial help to get started? If so, then the Council would like to hear from you. Individuals, groups or community organisations can apply for a share of the newly established Community Waste Minimisation Fund. The maximum amount per application will be $10,000 from the total available annual fund of $50,000.
The fund is a recognition that good ideas about how to better manage our waste are not the sole property of the Council or Government. In the community there are good schemes but often there isn’t the money needed to develop the ideas into viable and practical options which would benefit the community.
Such projects might include ways of increasing participation in recycling, reusing and recovering material, or research or feasibility studies.
- Applications need to be in by Friday, 31 March 2006. For information about what should be included in the application and how they will be assessed contact the Council on 941 8999 or visit www.ccc.govt.nz/waste
