This free show opens at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu on 18 November and will run until the end of February. Our gallery is the only Australasian venue for this spectacular display of 26 sculptures, the first time a modern art exhibition from South Korea has been brought to New Zealand.

The exhibition offers an insight into contemporary Korean society. It focuses on how the artists have created fascinating works from ordinary materials, including mass-produced consumer products.

The exhibition is supported by a major grant from the Korea Foundation, the government funding body established to promote Korean culture internationally, and by the Asia New Zealand Foundation.

  • For more information about exhibitions and events on at Christchurch Art Gallery, look online at www.christchurchartgallery.org.nz The gallery is open daily from 10am-5pm, with a 9pm late-night on Wednesdays.
