What’s in a name?

The Burwood/Pegasus Community Board wants to make sure new street names in its area reflect the location’s character, history and environment.

Developers of subdivisions submit suggestions for the names of new streets.

The Burwood/Pegasus Community Board Chairman, Don Rowlands says, “It would be good if new subdivisions could reflect something of the history and environment of the area, remembering that those names will be with us for hundreds of years and become part of a community’s character.

We’re going to work with the local historical society to come up with some suggestions and with neighbouring residents’ associations.”
