Christmas cheer A wonderful way to celebrate Christmas is to come to "Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park" in North Hagley Park on Saturday 2 December (rain date Sunday). Gathering in the park to sing and be entertained is a popular tradition and this year's concert will benefit Cure Kids, which funds research into early detection and prevention of diseases. The Council-sponsored event is free, however funds are raised during the evening through the Santa Hat Appeal. Christmas in the Park starts at 5.30pm with entertainment for children and is due to finish at 10.10pm. Hilary Timmins and Russell Harris will present a live Lotto draw at 8pm.
