Mother of three Tracey Washington, of Papanui, has won a $500 home insulation package.

The package includes insulating materials, Pink Batts and reflective foil.

"Insulation under the floor and in the ceiling provide substantially warmer and drier living conditions — while reducing heating costs", says Michael Gaudin, the Council’s clean air programme administrator.

The Washingtons will also qualify for Council grants for energy measures being undertaken in their house.

Tracey visited the Council’s energyefficiency show home at 10 Leander Street, Papanui, and while there filled in an entry form to go in the draw for the insulation package.

The next draw will be in July. The Leander Street show home is open from 11am to 6pm every day except Wednesday.
