Wanted: lights of our lives The public is being asked to nominate "local, living an and future legends" to carry the Olympic flame when it travels through New Zealand in June next year. "Legends" are people who have made a difference to their communities by the way they live their lives. This can be through kindness or strength of spirit; as role models; or by performing major feats of in individual accomplishment. Voting can be done through the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) website www.olympic.co.nz or by filling in a form carried on Air New Zealand planes. Christchurch women Annelise Coberger, 1992 Winter Olympic Games silver medallist in skiing, and Anna Lawrence, New Zealand hockey captain (and former Council staff member), have been chosen as the first torchbearer for New Zealand and the first for Christchurch respectively.
