Gardens Book ‘an ideal gift’ The Council Parks Unit has produced a lavishly illustrated book about Christchurch Botanic Gardens. "It is the first publication of its kind," says horticultural operations team leader Warwick Scadden. "It is for people to purchase and take around the gardens but it also makes an ideal gift for New Zealanders and overseas visitors." The 36- page book, called "The Christchurch Botanic Gardens", is illustrated with colour photographs by Lloyd Park and colour graphics by Nigel Humphreys. The text was written by Council staff members and describes the various sections and features of the gardens. About 30 hectares in size, the gardens have a renowned collection of plants, shrubs and trees for botanical and horticultural connoisseurs. The book costs $14.95 and is available from the Gardens Information Centre and Council service centres. |
