Windflow’s Council connection

The City Council was congratulated for its sustainable energy policies when the Windflow 500 windmill was officially switched on at Gebbies Pass. The CCC supported Windflow Technology’s drive to develop its first turbine by agreeing, along with the council-owned energy distributor Orion, to buy all the output it could produce.

Windflow CEO Geoff Henderson, Chairman Barry Leah and Energy Minister Pete Hodgson all mentioned Orion’s forward-looking attitude towards smaller suppliers and the Council’s commitment to sustainable energy as important in Windflow’s progress. The Gebbies Pass windmill is expected to provide the electricity network with enough energy to effectively power the Council’s Civic Offices in Tuam Street.
