Chateau Drive Reserve redevelopment

The Fendalton/Waimairi Community Board has signed off on a redevelopment plan for Chateau Drive Reserve. The reserve, adjacent to Jellie Park, is well used not only by the surrounding residents but also by students who walk and bike through the area on the way to the local Burnside area schools.

The redevelopment will see the central formal bed planted in evergreen lowgrowing shrubs to give year-round interest. There will also be lighting placed along the path which runs from Chateau Drive through to Jellie Park which will be of particular benefit to those who are accessing the fitness facilities of Jellie Park. Increased seating in the “conversation” area will also be added to the area to cater for passive users of the reserve.
