Work on Fendalton Rd

Public meeting Wednesday, 4 September, 7.30pm

Work is about to start on significant improvements to Fendalton Road.

The Council consulted with the community two years ago and in May this year got the final go-ahead from the Environment Court to make the changes. Since then, locally based contractor Works Infrastructure has been appointed to do the work, which will begin on Monday, 9 September.

The works will make the road four lanes between the railway line and Clyde Road, with a landscaped median, cycle lanes, some parking among the trees and off-street parking to serve St Barnabas Church.

The work will be done in stages, with the entire job taking up to 14 months to finish.

Before construction starts, a public meeting will be held on Wednesday 4 September at 7.30pm, at St Barnabas Church Hall. Works Infrastructure staff will talk about their proposed programme, detailed plans will be available and City Council staff will also be there to discuss plans and the work schedule.

Local residents will also be kept informed before work starts in their specific area.
