Japanese royal visit
Japan’s Crown Prince and Princess will be in
Christchurch for a short visit on Saturday 14 December.
Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore will host a civic
reception for the couple. Crown Prince Naruhito — heir to Japan’s
chrysanthemum throne — and Princess Masako will
be travelling without their baby, Princess Aiko. The
visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic
relations between Japan and New Zealand. The royal
couple will travel to Australia, and will be in New
Zealand from 12-16 December. During that time they
will visit Wellington, Christchurch, Milford Sound and
Auckland. |
