- Running around loose and rushing uninvited up to people is not effective control
- Give other park users plenty of space. Not everyone has the same confidence as you in your pet or
the same passion for dogs. You must control your dog at all times and make sure it does not cause a
nuisance
- If other dogs or people are about, think about leashing your dog until the distraction has gone
- Sections of city beaches become prohibited areas for dogs during some months and between certain
times. Call Animal Control or check the website to keep up to date with these rules

city’s dog exercise areas
- Council Animal Control Officers will issue infringement notices, which means a fine of $200. For serious
offences such as attacks, the Council also takes prosecutions
