Community mapping
The City Council is part of a project to find
out more about the city’s makeup and where
and how its social services are working. The aim
is to get a good over-all picture of the
community, spot trends and gaps, help with
planning and in deciding where resources can
best be used. The hope is that this will lead to the best
possible match of local needs and resources,
whether they are being provided by Government
departments or local organisations. Social
resources are scarce and it’s up to all of us to
make sure every dollar is making a positive
contribution to our community well-being. |
