All those customers can't be wrong

Since 1981, the Arts Centre Market has offered Christchurch a place to shop for unique hand-crafted goods, eat foods from around the globe and see local talent perform.

This month marks the 20th year that the market has operated. From humble beginnings as a summertime Saturday-only flea-market to today's world famous cultural tourism showcase, the market always strives to celebrate all that is great about Christchurch and Canterbury.

Close to two million shoppers have visited the market and on the weekend of December 8 and 9 celebrations will be held to mark the anniversary.

One lucky shopper will become the two millionth customer and receive prizes to enjoy at the Arts Centre.

There will be other happenings and special entertainment also as part of the celebrations.
