Access way in Square is named OGB Lane

It’s called OGB Lane — and is to be found in Cathedral Square. It’s the name given to an access way that runs along the south side of the old Government Building from Tramway Lane to Cathedral Square.

Until 10 years ago the access way was a legal road named Customs Lane. The Government Building used to house the Customs Department and at that time the building was called HM Customs).

When the legal road was stopped the land became part of the Heritage Hotel site.

The hotel management recently asked for the unusual name for the access and the Hagley-Ferrymead Community Board has agreed to the name of OGB Lane.
