Battling the bulge . . . of household waste  
 As part of the "e;There’s no time to waste"e; campaign, here are some tips for every householder on ways to reduce waste:
 
	Use kerbside recycling - Buy products with less packaging - refills, concentrates and economy sizes Reuse plastic shopping bags or take your own bags to the supermarket Take reusable items to a second- hand shop or local transfer station. Have a garage sale or take them to the local school or church fair - Take clothing to second- hand shops or clothing bins Compost your food and garden waste at home, or take garden waste to the transfer station to be composted Recycle used car oil, car batteries, scrap metal and whiteware at the transfer station.  |
