Links between Te Whare Roimata and Hagley-Ferrymead Community Board will continue to flourish, says board chairman Bob Todd.

He said this when members of the group attended a powhiri with the board and advocacy team at Linwood Service Centre. The powhiri was returning hospitality given by Te Whare Roimata to the board last year.

A group of staff and board members performed a special waiata for the occasion.

Welcoming the group, Bob Todd conveyed the board’s appreciation of the contribution the organisation made to the community.

"The love, caring and sharing you generate provides comfort to many and we commend you for that.

"The board will continue to support your activities, as without you and similar voluntary organisations this city would be much poorer."

Jenny Smith of Te Whare Roimata said the HagleyFerrymead board always wanted to get into the community and help.

She thanked the board for its support and "encouragement and willingness to know what is going on in the community".
