CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE . . .

Hagley-Ferrymead News Exchange of views promotes understanding

In recent weeks the HagleyFerrymead Advocacy Team, in line with the City Council’s seeking community views policy, has conducted a series of consultation meetings with the community.

This was to gain a clearer understanding of issues and matters of concerns in the Hagley/ Ferrymead wards.

The information gleaned from these forums will be of immense value to the Community Board when it makes decisions, not only on the equitable distribution of resources and where they will be most effective, but also in setting our objectives and priorities for the year.

The Advocacy Team is to be commended for the initiative and the process adopted.

Thanks also to those of you who took part. From your contribution has emanated several issues the Community Board will address. Those of us using Linwood Avenue recently will no doubt have noticed the impressive display of daffodils between Smith Street and Tilford Street. I have received many favourable comments.

— Bob Todd, chairman, Hagley- Ferrymead Community Board.
