Tommy Taylor Courts
This three-storey housing complex in Sydenham comprises 16 one-bedroom, six two-bedroom, one three bedroom and two four-bedroom units.
These include three units fitted specially for people with disabilities.
The venture cost $2.95 million, funded from the Christchurch City Council's Housing Development Fund. No ratepayers' money goes towards the building or maintenance of City Housing's complexes. All units are for rent by residents with low income or low assets, with weekly rentals ranging from $89 for a one-bedroom unit to $180 for four bedrooms. Facilities include:
The Tommy Taylor Courts will be opened officially by Sandra Lee, Minister for Local Government, on August 4.
