Sumner stormwater pipeline upgrade

A major stormwater pipeline is to be laid from Richmond Hill to Sumner to the sea between now and the end of September. In October 2000, 12 homes and businesses in Sumner were flooded and the main reason for the latest stormwater pipeline work is to prevent flooding in the township.

The first section of the new pipeline, primarily along Nayland Street, will be done between now and July and the next between July and September.

The total cost of the project will be about $1 million, to be shared between the Council and the developers of the Greenwood Estate subdivision on Richmond Hill. A start work notice is being sent to immediate neighbours of the work.
