Strong pokies response
A proposal to rely more on national rules to regulate gaming machines in the city has drawn 2055 submissions from the public. After considering its Gaming Venues and TAB Policy at the end of June, the Council put a proposal and options before the public and asked for feedback.
That closed on 28 July and staff are now analysing submissions ahead of hearings. The council will hear the 135 submitters who have indicated they wish to follow up by speaking before the elected members. Dates for this have yet to be set. |
