Sport and recreation funding scheme

Does your sport club or recreation organisation need funding?

Christchurch City Council, through the following Community Boards, is offering small-grant funding for not-for-profit sport and recreation groups.

Participating Community Boards:

  • Fendalton/Waimairi 
  • Riccarton/Wigram 
  • Hagley/Ferrymead 
  • Shirley/Papanui

The aim of this funding scheme is to support local recreation & sport groups and to increase participation in recreation activities.

Application forms and information brochures are available from your nearest Council Service Centre, Civic Offices or on the Council’s website — www.ccc.govt.nz/Community/Funding/SportAndRecreationFund.

For advice about your application, please contact the Community Recreation Advisor at your nearest Service Centre by calling  941 8999. 

Information seminars about the scheme are being held on the following dates:

  • Fendalton/Waimairi: Wed 23 August 6pm, Fendalton Service Centre Board Room, Jeffreys/Clyde Rd
  • Riccarton/Wigram: Wed 16 August, noon and 6pm, Harvard Lounge, Corsair Dr
  • Hagley/Ferrymead: Mon 21 August, noon, Linwood Service Centre Board, 180 Smith St
  • Shirley/Papanui: Mon 28 August, 5.30pm Papanui Service Centre, Cnr Langdons Rd and Restell St

Applications close 29 September 2006

NOTE: Apart from the Fendalton/Waimairi and Burwood/Pegasus community boards, this is the first time this fund has been available.

The Burwood/Pegasus board runs its funding scheme at a different time.
