Community Outcomes
These Community Outcomes belong us, the people of Christchurch. The City Council has led a process to find out what we as a community wish for Christchurch now and in the future.
The Community Outcomes have been developed over the last year and have been consulted on with the community. Thank you to the groups, individuals and agencies that have contributed their time and experience. The Outcomes will be reviewed in 2012.
Individuals, including you, as well as many groups and organisations, will need to work together to achieve these outcomes. A group of outcome measures, or indicators, has been developed to track our progress towards achieving the outcomes we want.
To the right is a summary of the Community Outcomes. The full version includes more detailed explanations of the Community Outcomes and how progress towards achieving them will be monitored. Along with other organisations – like the Canterbury District Health Board, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs – it will be used as the basis for cooperative work.
It is available on request electronically on the web at www.ccc.govt.nz/communityoutcomes or by phoning 941 8999 and asking for a copy to be sent to you.
- Many people will be aware of moves that may see the Banks Peninsula district becoming part of Christchurch city. Efforts have been made to align this summary with the views of the Banks Peninsula communities. If the reorganisation goes ahead, the Community Outcomes can be reviewed.
