Central-city parking now even easier

About 50 new static signs now help direct motorists to Christchurch City Council car park buildings. The signs, strategically placed on a car park search route, direct motorists to the nearest Christchurch City Council car park.

They complement the two large electronic signs now also operating in the central city — on Durham and Lichfield streets. The new system of static and electronic signage is designed to make it easier for drivers to find a car park in the central city.

The electronic signs are constantly changing, detailing availability of parks in the nearest four City Council parking buildings dotted around the one-way system (Durham Street, Cambridge Terrace, Lichfield, Madras and Kilmore Streets).

In the future, another two electronic signs will be installed on Madras and Kilmore streets to complete the parking search route.
