Hairy’s here in July

Donaldson’s Dairy will be missing New Zealand’s favourite dog during the second week of the July school holidays because, for the first time, Hairy Maclary and his mates are coming to the South Island.

TV2 KidsFest, in association with the Christchurch Arts Festival, will stage Hairy Maclary Capers live on stage at Christ’s College School Hall from 19-23 July. Hairy and his dog pals perform a 30-minute programme of song, dance and games, with a special appearance by Scarface Claw, the toughest tomcat in town.

To celebrate this first-ever visit by her lovable creation, author Lynley Dodd is coming too. As a special treat for Christchurch kids, Lynley will appear at Christchurch City Libraries to read from her books. Bring a cushion. The dates are:

  • Sunday 17 July 3pm Central Library
  • Monday 18 July 10am Linwood Library, 11.30am New Brighton Library, 1.30pm Fendalton Library, 3.30pm Shirley Library
  • Tuesday 19 July 10.30am South Library
