Council funds help provide basketball court
After identifying a need for more facilities for young people in the area, the Bromley Community Centre on Bromley Road gained funds from the Christchurch City Council for a basketball court, hoop and backboard. Bob Todd, chairperson of the Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board officially opened the new court last month at a celebration called The Ball’s In Your Court. Players Andrew Johnstone and Joel Hart from the Scenic Circle Canterbury Rams came too and shared their skills with some budding young basketballers.
