New homework website set up

A new website has been set up to help secondary school students access information about the City Council.

Called “Homework Central”, the site is a ‘gateway’ for students to link to fact sheets and web pages on the Council’s website, making searching for information easier.

City Council education and promotion’s co-ordinator Kerry Everingham says the site has been designed with students in mind and is a good first “port of call” for information about the Council.

“The sheer scale of activities and projects that the City Council is involved in is huge. As well as roading, parking, wastewater disposal and rubbish collecting for example, the Council also looks after the city’s parks and waterways, urban planning, heritage and the libraries, to name a few.

“The Homework Central site is a good starting point for students wanting to access information about these activities, and search for project ideas,” she says.

Kerry is keen to encourage students to contact the Central Library, or their local library, if wanting help with research rather than the City Council.

“The City Libraries have the resources and skills to help students and are the best place to start when researching information about the City Council.”
