Airport parking

The P5 parking zone in front of the domestic terminal at Christchurch Airport will soon be changed to an active passenger loading and unloading zone and no unattended vehicles will be permitted in this area.

In line with best practice standards this change will improve public safety and facilitate quick and convenient access to the terminal for genuine pick-up and drop-off activity.

The change will take place at the end of April with the installation of new signage.

This upgrade marks the beginning of Stage Two of the airport’s parking improvements. Leaflets detailing Stage Two changes will be available later in the year.

Further improvements will include additional public parking spaces and the installation of a new automatic payment system to streamline and speed up the car park’s exiting process.

The airport company, Christchurch International Airport Ltd, is 75 per cent owned by the Christchurch City Council and 25% by the Government.
