Council going green

The City Council’s Civic Offices in Tuam Street, the Parking Unit Building across the street and the Glassons building in City Mall have become part of a national Transfund-funded research project being carried out by Booz-Allen and Hamilton consultancy.

The project is undertaking case studies of Green Travel Plans in New Zealand. Also taking part is the Auckland Central Police Station. Booz-Allen will produce a guide to Green Travel Plans which will be promoted to businesses around the country. Green Travel Planning aims to reduce the environmental impact caused by travel to work and during work and to change people’s habits so they use more environmentally friendly modes of transport.
